Anyone who experiences the tragedy of a young child's oncological disease knows that sometimes even months pass before the disease has a name and this unfortunately favors its progression, determining the fate of a child.
The ONCOREUM scientific study project,
fully funded by ALR , involves numerous AIEOP Centers throughout the country for the timely diagnosis of certain types of childhood cancers presenting with pain in the bones and joints .
Symptoms and laboratory data of more than 300 children and adolescents suffering from onset cancer with musculoskeletal symptoms and more than 600 children and adolescents suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis have been analyzed.

results obtained allow an important expansion of knowledge on alarm signals useful for avoiding diagnostic errors or delays, favoring an early suspicion of cancer by pediatricians, general practitioners and various specialists who may be involved at the onset symptoms.
The project received positive feedback from industry experts and was published in the prestigious international magazine
"The Lancet".
